Dr. Rafia Mumtaz

Lab Director

 

Dr. Rafia Mumtaz received her Ph.D. in 2010 from the University of Surrey, UK, in the area of Remote Sensing and Satellite image processing. She is currently working as Head of Information Technology and the Director Internet of Things (IoT) Lab, at NUST-SEECS. She is the recipient of several national and international research grants worth PKR 33 million. She has been awarded NUST-SEECS Best Researcher Award in the year 2019.

Dr. S M H Zaidi

Lab Co-Director and International Engagement Lead

 

Dr. S M H Zaidi (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from the University of South Florida, USA, in 1992. He is currently the former Principal and the Dean of the NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS). He also serves as a Senior Research Faculty at NUST-SEECS. His key research interests include wireless and photonics networks, ultra-high-speed communication systems, network security, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He was a recipient of several coveted awards including, the Best University Researcher and Teacher and the Presidents' Pride of Performance for his national level meritorious service in IT education and research. Furthermore, he has won international research grants and has more than 100 research publications in reputed journals and conferences. He has also been the pioneer steering committee International Co-Chair of the IEEE sponsored International Conference HONET-ICT, since past 16 years.

Dr. Syed Ali Hassan

Research Collaborator

 

Syed Ali Hassan received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta USA in 2011.  His broader area of research is signal processing for communications with a focus on cooperative communications for wireless networks, stochastic modeling, estimation and detection theory, and 5G/B5G/6G communications. He is the director of Information Processing and Transmission (IPT) Lab,  http://ipt.seecs.nust.edu.pk/

Dr. Hasan Ali Khattak

Research Collaborator

 

Hasan Ali Khattak received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from Politecnico di Bari, Bari, Italy in 2015. He is currently serving as Associate Professor - School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National University of Sciences and Technology - Pakistan since October 2020. His current research interests focus on Future Internet Architectures such as the Web of Things and leveraging Data Sciences and Social Engineering for Future Smart Cities. He is currently involved in several funded research projects in various domains such as Healthcare Information Management, Semantic Web of Things, and Fog Computing while exploring Ontologies and other Semantic Web Technologies. His perspective research areas are the application of Machine Learning and Data Sciences for improving and enhancing Quality of life in Smart Urban Spaces especially in the Healthcare and Transportation domain through Knowledge management, predictive analysis, and visualization. He is an active Senior Member of IEEE, a professional member of ACM, and a member of societies such as IEEE ComSoc, IEEE VTS, and Internet Society.

Dr. Muhammad Ali Tahir

Research Collaborator

 

Dr. Muhammad Ali Tahir received his PhD in computer science from RWTH Aachen university, Germany in 2015. During his PhD he worked on several EU funded projects related to speech recognition, aiming to bridge the language divide in a multilingual Europe. After joining SEECS, he is actively engaged with the local industry to develop voice based solutions for voice based navigation, telephone call analytics, and customer support voice chatbots.
